Function Room

Perfect for quiz nights, birthday parties and weddings, workshops and meetings, the Function Room accommodates up to 270 people and can be configured to suit your event needs.

Room setups can accommodate:

  • Theatre style: 270 people
  • Cabaret style with a dance floor: 150 people
  • Cabaret style with no dance floor: 200 people

The Function Room can also be divided into two separate rooms for smaller groups and breakout rooms.

For your guest’s comfort, room hire includes use of the kitchen facilities, reverse cycle air conditioning and toilet facilities.

Items included when hiring the Function Room:

  • Hot water urn
  • Tea, coffee, sugar and milk
  • Crockery and cutlery
  • Glasses and carafes for wine and beer
  • Mobile Baine Marie, with a 15-amp extension cord
  • Audio-visual system including cordless and corded microphones, projector and screen, laptop
  • Three-phase power point
  • Round or rectangular tables
  • Cream or cushioned black chairs
  • Cool room and bar area
  • Barbeque
  • Stage area
  • Large double door fridge in main kitchen

Access, set up and pack down for private parties

For your convenience, hiring the Function Room includes ample access and set up time.

A 50% deposit is to be paid when you book the venue.

You’ll be provided a key and temporary security code to access the venue at a mutually suitable time. When you book your function, the Functions Coordinator will let you know where to return the key once the venue has been cleaned.

Functions can be set up during HRCC open hours. A staff member will be on duty and will show you the facilities.

After your function, you’re encouraged to pick up any remaining items on the next business day. Any final clean up should be completed during this time too.

Condition of hire

Adhesive tape is not to be used on any Court floors or Function Room dance floor.

It is a requirement of hire that all areas used by your function are cleaned and tidied. Tables and chairs must be returned to their storage areas, and glasses and crockery put away.

Please vacuum carpets, and sweep and mop the floors.

Bottles, cans and all other rubbish is to be placed in the bins outside. Please do not leave any rubbish in the kitchen or the Function Room.

If any additional cleaning including steam cleaning is required, a cleaning fee of $100 may be charged.

Liquor Licenses

If you intend to sell alcohol at your event, you will need to secure an Occasional Liquor License.

Call 9722 0443, visit Department of Racing Gaming and Liquor online, or visit the Bunbury Court House to obtain a license.

If you will be making alcohol available at your function, whether sold or provided free of charge, please notify the Harvey Police in advance.

All venue hirers must comply with the provisions of the Liquor Act, Health Act, Police Act and Criminal Act. The Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre will not be liable for any breaches.
